Rising Scholars was created to help bridge these gaps by providing a supportive community and practical resources that complement the guidance scholars receive from their colleges and universities.
Today, our work extends beyond supporting individual scholars. Rising Scholars partners with colleges and universities, faculty and academic leaders, corporations, foundations, sponsors, and community organizations to strengthen the systems that influence doctoral persistence, progression, and completion.

We are committed to removing barriers, protecting and advocating for student rights, and providing scholar-centered programs and services that promote persistence, progression, and degree completion—particularly for learners from underserved and under-resourced communities.
Through direct scholar support, academic and dissertation development, mentorship, professional development, institutional partnerships, faculty engagement, sponsored initiatives, and collaborative programming, we work alongside scholars, colleges and universities, organizations, and community partners to strengthen the systems of support surrounding the doctoral journey and create pathways from doctoral aspiration to completion, leadership, and lasting impact.
